The traditional international Saint Petersburg HSE Summer School will take place from July 18 to August 12, offering courses in Russian language and history, business and management, and data science. The Summer School is a chance for both Russian and international students to gain new knowledge and ECTS credits while immersing themselves in the summer atmosphere of St Petersburg. The classes will be held in English in a hybrid format. In this article, our editorial board has highlighted the main features of this year’s programme.

Inter-campus courses are the subjects that are available online for students of all HSE campuses. The courses have been present at the university since 2020, and during this time have become an integral part of the educational process. In this post, we will take a look at their main features and advantages.

Students of the Political Science and World Politics programme study a second foreign language at the university. Current options include Chinese, German, Portuguese, and French, with Spanish set to be added next academic year. HSE University's St Petersburg campus is committed to developing research and science. It has 18 scientific departments and centres, including seven international laboratories led by world-renowned scientists whose studies are dedicated to solving challenges at the national and global levels. Due to a large number of questions from students concerning taking an exceptional leave of absence, the editorial board together with the Office of Degree Programmes at HSE University – St. Petersburg have prepared answers to the most frequent questions.

Anna Kostrova is a fourth-year student enrolled in the 'Sociology and Social Informatics' programme. In the autumn of 2021, she left for Masaryk University in Czech Republic under a student mobility programme. Double degree tracks have been created as a result of a partnership between HSE – St. Petersburg and other programmes offered by well-known foreign universities. Participants are given the opportunity to study abroad for a year at a partner university. Upon successful defence of a thesis in front of a joint commission, students receive fully fledged diplomas from two universities.

In 2021, HSE University – St. Petersburg for the first time launched an admission campaign for the following master's programmes: ‘Data Analytics for Politics and Society, ‘Computational Biology and Bioinformatics’, and ‘Language Technologies in Business and Education’. With nearly half of the academic year being over, we decided to ask the master’s students about what impressions they have of the programmes so far.
