In the framework of the academic mission to Latin America, the delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by director Anna Tyshetskaya visited several universities in Mexico. During this trip, HSE signed cooperation agreements with two leading universities: Panamerican University and Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP).

The delegation from Malaysia headed by Zambry Abdul Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education, visited HSE University-St Petersburg on October 10. Among the key topics of the meeting was the discussion of the first results of the mirror laboratory run by HSE University-St Petersburg and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). During the visit, the parties signed the cooperation agreement between HSE University and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).

On October 10, there was an awarding ceremony for the students from the Master's programme 'International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region'. The students received certificates for participation in the Summer School 'High Growth Firms—Processes and Causes' organised by the Brazilian Fundação Dom Cabral.

HSE University has taken a leading position in the university ranking prepared by the 'Expert' analytical centre. The ‘Techpred-50’ ranking evaluates the success of educational institutions in training founders of technology startups over the period from 2014 to 2023. HSE University has entered the Top-3, alongside MIPT and Moscow State University.

On September 23, in the Russian House in Jakarta, the delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by the director Anna Tyshetskaya introduced Indonesian school students and their parents to the educational programmes at the university and opportunities of studies in Russia.

In early September 2024, Anastasia Usyk, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Programme in Asian and African Studies at HSE University in St Petersburg, participated in the final round of the ‘Chinese Bridge’ International Language Competition in Beijing, where she won the first prize in online voting and received the Audience Award and the Award for Most Outstanding Performance. She spoke about her experience in the competition, her studies and future plans in an interview with HSE News Service.

Andrey Vovk, 4th-year student of the Bachelor's programme 'Asian and African Studies', undertook an internship on the Arabic language at the language centre 'Ahlan World' in Cairo. He studied the literary and spoken Arabic language as well as the peculiarities of the Egyptian dialect. Earlier, the student took part in the Summer School at the National University of Uzbekistan.

Victoria Shirnina is a student of the Bachelor's programme 'Asian and African Studies' at HSE University-St Petersburg. Now, the girl lives in Japan where she studies under the student exchange programme at the Tokyo International University. In the interview, Victoria shared her impression of the studies in Japan and gave some advice to those who are only planning to participate in the mobility programme.
