HSE University and the National University of Uzbekistan have agreed to launch a mirror laboratory for the study of topical economic issues. The Protocol of Intent was signed by HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and NUU Rector Inom Majidov as part of the Interregional Conference for University Rectors of Russia and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

HSE SPB Day has been held at Sevkabel Port in the open air. HSE students were congratulated on the beginning of the academic year by the trustees, faculty deans, and the rousing HSE Dance Club. The first-years had an initiation ceremony, participated in activities from student clubs, and danced to popular songs on the Gulf of Finland. They received well wishes from the professors, representatives of large companies and, of course, student organisations. This year, first-year students of the International Bachelor’s in Business and Economics will be divided into three educational cohorts according to their level of mathematical training. This will help winners of olympiads, applicants with high points, and graduates of specialised schools to continue to develop their skills, while helping other students to more easily adapt to the training schedule. HSE University-St Petersburg has held the traditional graduation ceremony for bachelor's and master's students. The 'Arena' event hall hosted more than 5,000 people: graduates and their loved ones, students, lecturers and deans. Galina Shirokova, Professor at the Department of Management at HSE University-St Petersburg, has worked alongside international researchers to identify the role of social circles and cultural values in the success of young businesswomen. They found that support within a group increases the chances of women engaging in entrepreneurship.
