This year, 60 HSE University-St Petersburg professors were named the best based on a student poll and the results of the Student Research Paper Competition. Sixteen of them have received this title three years in a row. Read on to find out more about the winners and the voting procedure.

To mark the occasion, we talked to students and professors of the campus about their plans for the year—in science, careers, extracurricular activities and beyond.

This year, first-year students of the International Bachelor’s in Business and Economics will be divided into three educational cohorts according to their level of mathematical training. This will help winners of olympiads, applicants with high points, and graduates of specialised schools to continue to develop their skills, while helping other students to more easily adapt to the training schedule. HSE University-St Petersburg has held the traditional graduation ceremony for bachelor's and master's students. The 'Arena' event hall hosted more than 5,000 people: graduates and their loved ones, students, lecturers and deans. Galina Shirokova, Professor at the Department of Management at HSE University-St Petersburg, has worked alongside international researchers to identify the role of social circles and cultural values in the success of young businesswomen. They found that support within a group increases the chances of women engaging in entrepreneurship.

The academic year is coming to an end, and there are two bachelor's programmes for which it was the first one. We talked to students of the 'International Bachelor's in Business and Economics' and 'Media Communications' programmes about their studies, favourite subjects and new skills.

The ‘Expert’ analytical centre has published its ranking of the publication activity of Russian universities for 2023. HSE University has improved its position in six subjects and two narrow sections.
