HSE University-St Petersburg Takes Part in EAIE 2024 in France
On September 17-20, Toulouse hosted the conference EAIE devoted to the internationalisation of higher education. During the meetings, experts from 110 countries discussed the prospects of partnership in the sphere of higher education. HSE University-St Petersburg and key universities in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg will visit the higher education institutions in these countries during the academic mission to Latin America planned for the middle of October.
'Scientist's Code': Alexander Sorokin on Siberian Physicists, Expeditions in Himalayas and Marathons
Lots of people know Alexander Sorokin as a Dean of the St Petersburg School of Social Sciences but earlier, he engaged in the history of science and studied the Tomsk physicists. At the moment, he is working at the junction of several areas—anthropology, research on science and technology and environmental history, helps our students to study the local communities in the Indian Himalayas. We discussed with the Candidate of Historical Sciences what it was like to work constantly at the junction of various spheres, go on expeditions and run three marathons in different locations across the globe.
Aleksandra Averyanova on Her Management Studies and Work at Ecom.Tech
Aleksandra Averyanova graduated from the Bachelor's programme 'International Business and Management' in 2024 but already now, she is working as a coordinator of internal training at the IT company 'ecom.tech'. Tatiana Shlychkova on Her One-Year Exchange Studies at Fudan University
Annually, HSE University provides students of Asian and African Studies with opportunities to participate in mobility programmes in the countries of studied languages. Long-term academic mobility helps not only upgrade language proficiency but also dive into a completely different culture and understand it from the inside. Tatiana Shlychkova, student of the Department of Chinese, Southeast and South Asian Research, spent her fourth year of studies in Shanghai, having passed the selection to one of the most high-ranking universities in China—the Fudan University. The scholarship covered tuition and accommodation. In addition, Tatiana received a monthly allowance for personal expenses.
