From next year, students of the Bachelor's programme 'Political Science and World Politics' will be able to develop their skills of project activities in a specialised seminar and in the course of projects based on the method of 'project service learning'. Magdalena Gaete, a head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education (RepLab), will deliver the project seminar and coordinate projects. We talked to Prof Gaete about what students should expect from the programme and why participation in projects is useful.

In August, the HSE University-St Petersburg Summer School came to an end. The participants attended courses in political science, Russian, and finance given by professors of HSE University-St Petersburg, got to know the city, and saw the sights as part of the cultural programme. The summer school hosted students from nine countries: China, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Germany, Uzbekistan and Russia.
In her fourth and final year, Veronika Gareeva, a student of the Bachelor's track 'Environment and Interior', studied at Politecnico di Milanо under the academic mobility programme. She did so while working on her thesis project at the HSE Art and Design School and, as a result, enrolled in a master's programme at the Italian university. At HSE University-St Petersburg, except for the main learning trajectory, over two years, the students master an additional one—a minor. It can help to find new optics for research, choose a profession or simply broaden the horizons. A minor helped Tatyana Novotolskaya, a graduate of the Bachelor's programme 'Sociology and Social Informatics', not only find a new area for research but also get enrolled in the Master's programme at Oxford University.
