
'Our Department is Making a Huge Effort to Emphasise the Importance of Interdisciplinarity'
The Master's in Global and Regional History has students from Russia and all over the world. Some of them already have experience with historical methods, while others are encountering this academic field for the first time. We asked the students to share their personal experiences and tell us what they remembered the most about their first year at HSE University, what is unique and interesting about the programme, and whether it is difficult to study in English.

'Academic Mobility Has Made Two of My Dreams Come True at Once'
While studying at HSE University-St Petersburg, students can take part in academic mobility programme with the universities of other countries. Among our partners are University of Rome Tor Vergata, Pompeu Fabra University, Seoul National University and others. Sometimes students go abroad to study in-person, sometimes they do it online because of the pandemic. We talked to the students who have taken part in the academic mobility programme with foreign universities this year.

HSE University-St Petersburg Develops Partnerships with Universities in Uzbekistan
A delegation headed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University-St Petersburg, has visited the leading universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the working visit, agreements were reached on broad educational and scientific international cooperation in a number of areas. The first step towards formalising the partnership was cooperation within a consortium and the Centre for Russian Education, which was launched on April 28 at Samarkand State University. The next face-to-face meeting between the parties will take place in June during HSE Partner Week in Moscow.

Maxim Borisik on Internship at Gazprom and Work at American IT Company
It is a common practice for HSE – St. Petersburg students to combine studies and work in their senior year. However, often finding a balance between these two activities can be pretty challenging. Maxim Borisik, a third-year student of the educational programme 'Logistics and Supply Chain Management', not only gets good grades but also works for almost nine months at an American IT company. The editorial board asked Maxim how he manages to remain successful in both areas.
