Due to the threat of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 and in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, HSE University – St. Petersburg will temporarily switch to a distance learning. Having earned degrees in International Relations and Energy, Tulio Bunder from Brazil wanted to pursue his research in Eurasian Energy Geopolitics, which led him to the Master's programme in Comparative Politics of Eurasia. Political Science on Vacation: How to Level Up
Anna Shabanova, a first-year student of the Master's programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia', has received funding from the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) for participating in a virtual summer school dedicated to political research methodology. Master's Programme in History Launches Double Degree Track
HSE University — Saint Petersburg and the University of Göttingen have signed the agreement on the double degree track for the Master's programme 'Global and Regional History'. The best programme students will study in Germany for a year and obtain two diplomas issued by both universities.

Russian and Dutch Youth Drive Museums
At the end of April, an international online conference ‘Youth as a Driver of Museum Development’ was held. It was dedicated to summarizing the preliminary results of the first stage of the same-name project and supported by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in St. Petersburg. Students, who took an active part in the implementation of the project, and experts from the museum community shared their impressions and opinions on why it is necessary to develop and promote the youth direction in museums.

Last Call: International Applicants Can Still Apply for HSE University Scholarships
If you are an international applicant, you still have time to apply for scholarships from HSE University. The full-tuition scholarships are awarded annually in May. This year, the Scholarship Committee will meet for the last time on May 27, 2021 to determine who receives full and partial scholarships.

‘We Understand that Europeans and Asian Countries Are Constantly Changing’
In the 2021-2022 academic year, the master's program ‘Business and Politics in Modern Asia’ opens a new online course dedicated to the study and comparative analysis of the Asian and European labour markets. The discipline was developed with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Lecturers and authors of the course – Liudmila Veselova and Natalia Ribberink – told us about the content of the discipline, its importance for students, and their expectations.

HSE St. Petersburg and the University of Helsinki Launch New Joint Course
From January 2022, students of HSE St. Petersburg and the University of Helsinki can take a joint online course on social policy in Russia and other post-Soviet countries. It was designed for students of the master's programmes 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia', 'Comparative Politics of Russia and Eurasia', as well as for students of the master's program of the University of Helsinki. Dr Anna Tarasenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Comparative Governance Studies, takes us through the new course and her expectations from teaching in an innovative setting with foreign colleagues.
