Our today's hero, Svetlana Krivokhizh, Head of the Department of International Relations and Political Processes in Asia and Africa, chooses another way. Together with her colleagues and students, she studies media. HSE University invites submissions of proposals with academic reports for participation in the 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference (YIAC). The conference programme, centred on five research themes addressing issues of economic and social development, will retain its interdisciplinary focus and welcome participation from leading scientists in Russia and around the globe. The key events of the 25th Yasin Conference will be taking place in Moscow from April 15 to 18, 2025.

Alexander Migal, 2nd-year student of the Master's programme 'Language Technology in Business and Education', spoke at the conference 'International Natural Language Generation Conference' (INLG) on natural language which took place in Japan. At the event, he presented the results of the team project—a competition in generating fanfics about the Harry Potter universe.

The Centre for Youth Studies at HSE University-St Petersburg has held the International Research Conference 'Agency and Sustainability of Youth in the Age of Global Challenges'. More than 100 researchers from Russia, India, Argentina, and Brazil discussed the adaptation of young employees in the labour market, the influence of digitalisation on the youth's lives, the role of youth culture in the city, and other issues. St Petersburg hosted the traditional philological conference 'October Readings—2024,' which addressed issues of inequality. It gathered more than 100 students and professors from universities across Russia and the CIS countries.

Magdalena Gaete, Head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education, took part in the international online conference AHIBS Global Research Exchange. The meeting was organised by the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM). At the conference, the researchers discussed the work results of the mirror laboratory of HSE University-St Petersburg and UTM.

HSE University-St Petersburg showcased the national developments in artificial intelligence at one of the largest technological conferences in the Asia-Pacific region (APR)—'IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society Conference: Asia-Pacific' held in Indonesia. HSE University was the only Russian representative at the event. The conference was held at one of the leading technical universities in Indonesia—ITS where HSE University opened its representative office in 2023.
