International Research Project Competition Starts
HSE University launches a new competition ‘International Academic Cooperation'. The competition's goal is to strengthen international scientific ties, expand the research agenda, and involve students of all levels in world-class basic research.
HSE University opens the doors for international research cooperation by announcing the start of the competition of joint basic research projects 'International Academic Cooperation'.
Objectives of the competition:
to develop international scientific collaborations;
to expand the research agenda of the university;
to involve HSE students of all levels in world-class projects;
to form a culture of academic research for new generations of scientists.
Participation is open to HSE University research subdivisions which plan to carry out basic research projects together with international universities and research centres. An important condition is that the partners must engage in similar research subjects.

The competition is held to create new and enhance the existing scientific ties with the leading international universities and research centres. It will help scientists from different countries to exchange ideas, jointly develop new research directions and initiate interdisciplinary research. The competition is aimed to involve young researchers and students of all levels in the atmosphere of academic creativity by giving them a unique opportunity to participate in significant projects supervised by leading scientists not only from their university. The competition is open for research subdivisions at HSE University which plan to carry out joint basic research with international colleagues working on joint research topics. It also focuses on forming such a model of international research and technical cooperation which would contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Russian specialists via efficient interaction with colleagues from other countries.
Competition Timeframe
The application period lasts until February 3, 2025. During that time, there will be consultations for the competition participants. The verification of the application compliance with the technical specifications will be held from February 4 to 10, and the review of the applications—from February 11 to April 14, 2025.
The competition results will be announced on April 30. On May 15, 2025, the winners’ lists will be published on the HSE website.

You can apply online via a special form on the HSE website. Your application should be complemented with:
documents of an international scientific partner;
filled forms (1-6) in English in .doc and .pdf;
a video presentation of your research project.
HSE University invites all interested scientists and research teams to participate in the competition and make a step towards developing science without borders.
