On April 6–8, HSE University-St Petersburg will hold the HSE International Model United Nations. Registration is open till March 1. Participation is open to both university and high school students.

A report by researchers from the Strategic Entrepreneurship Centre received an award at the international conference AIB-MENA (Academy of International Business—Middle-East North Africa) in Morocco. The authors of the work were Galina Shirokova and Aleksandra Zakharova.

In 2024, the applicants for the St Petersburg School of Art and Design will be able to choose a new educational track 'Fashion Design'. We talked to Leonid Alekseev—the track supervisor, a fashion designer and founder of the brand 'House of Leo'—about St Petersburg style, the fashion industry, launching his own brand, cooperation with the Mariinsky Theatre and what the students will learn over four years of the studies.

HSE University-St Petersburg has hosted open lectures by Tu Thi Loan, professor at the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies. The lectures were organised by the Department for Chinese, South and Southeast Asian Studies of the Institute of Asian and African Studies.

Over this year, scientists from HSE University-St Petersburg have managed to bring in more external grant funding from the Russian Science Foundation. The university launched new laboratories and projects, developed research in partnership with other universities, and some articles were published in international journals. This year, 60 HSE University-St Petersburg professors were named the best based on a student poll and the results of the Student Research Paper Competition. Sixteen of them have received this title three years in a row. Read on to find out more about the winners and the voting procedure.

The School of Arts and Humanities opened the Laboratory of Critical Theory of Culture. There, the researchers will engage in the development of new theory of culture in the fast-paced modern world. The head of the Laboratory was assigned to be Ivan Mikirtumov, Doctor of Philosophy and professor at HSE University-St Petersburg.

Galina Shirokova, Professor at the Department of Management at HSE University-St Petersburg, has worked alongside international researchers to identify the role of social circles and cultural values in the success of young businesswomen. They found that support within a group increases the chances of women engaging in entrepreneurship.
