The Art and Design School has become a separate faculty within the structure of HSE University-St Petersburg. The new department includes the bachelor's and master's programmes in Design. Mitya Kharshak has been appointed dean of the faculty.

Higher School of Economics always pays a lot of attention to international relations. This year, HSE University-St Petersburg laid the foundation for cooperation with the leading Indonesian universities. Recently, HSE University at Pokrovsky Bulvar in Moscow hosted the first festival of Indonesian culture 'Garuda'.

HSE SPB Day has been held at Sevkabel Port in the open air. HSE students were congratulated on the beginning of the academic year by the trustees, faculty deans, and the rousing HSE Dance Club. The first-years had an initiation ceremony, participated in activities from student clubs, and danced to popular songs on the Gulf of Finland. They received well wishes from the professors, representatives of large companies and, of course, student organisations. On September 10–13, Vladivostok hosted the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). The participants discussed the development of Russia and its relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The delegation of HSE University-St Petersburg featured representatives of the administration, professors, and students of the campus.

Classes at the Hermitage, internships at the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, cooperation with Sevkabel Port—all these things are part of student life on the Master's programme 'Arts and Culture Management'. Over the last year, Alisa Chernova, second-year student of the programme, has managed to study Dutch art in St Petersburg's main museum, attend the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, and help organise the CIBA-2023 cultural event.
