A one-month-long exchange for students from the Centre for Russian, European, and Eurasian Studies at Birmingham University (UK) in HSE has come to a close. They share their impressions.

Culture of Historical Memory: World War II and Political Regimes of the 20th Century

A group of 14 undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of History at HSE St. Petersburg took part in a joint research and educational seminar with Humboldt University in Berlin and Bielefeld. The seminar, which was devoted to the culture of historical memory of World War II and Political Regimes of the 20th century, was led by Alexander Semyonov, Head of the Department of History, Dietmar Wulff, Associate Professor at the Department and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Kerstin Bischl of the Humboldt University Chair for the History of Eastern Europe. The trip was made possible thanks to a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service.

In late June an official delegation from HSE St. Petersburg comprising Sergey Kadochnikov, Alexander Semyonov, Tatyana Alexeeva, Elena Rogova and Christopher Gerry visited Turin university, where they signed an agreement on cooperation.

On June 24-26, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University hosted the conference ‘Creative Industries and Sustainable Development: Bridging Theory and Practice’ in Vilnius, Lithuania. The main focus of the conference’s papers and discussions was the end of the year-long KAVA project ‘A Complex Research on the Impact of Environmental Factors on a Creator,’ in which more than 10 international universities, including HSE St. Petersburg, took part.

Summer Seminar for History Students

A group of undergraduate history students is going to a research seminar in Berlin and Bielefeld. The trip is possible thanks to a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Iron Chancellor at HSE in St. Petersburg

A symposium on ‘Prussian-German-Russian Relations in Otto von Bismarck’s Period’ dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first chancellor of the German Empire took place at HSE in St. Petersburg.

HSE - St.Petersburg Joins International Double Degree Consortium

HSE St Petersburg is to join IMESS double degree consortium. The IMESS consortium voted to approve the proposal for HSE St. Petersburg to join the consortium, through offering a Double Masters Degree (UCL-HSE) in Finance, within the IMESS 'Economics and Business pathway'. The IMESS consortium, which is headed by University College London, consists of 7 other European university partners, including the Moscow HSE campus. This is a great success of our campus and we are proud to be the part of one of well-known international network of universities.

HSE Graduates Will Be Able to Confirm Their Qualifications More Easily with ACCA

The Higher School of Economics and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have signed an agreement of mutual understanding. The agreement will allow in the future for some of the subjects taught at HSE to be recognised in ACCA’s accreditation process and opens up possibilities for students and graduates of financial programmes.

BRICS Universities League at HSE St. Petersburg

On December 3, 2014, a delegation consisting of some of the largest Chinese universities from the BRICS Universities League visited HSE St. Petersburg.

Critical Thinking is Key

Christopher Gerry, the Academic Supervisor of the Department of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, has worked at the Higher School of Economics’ St. Petersburg campus since September 2014.
