HSE University – St Petersburg Strengthens Academic Ties with France
On March 25, 2021, Mr Pascal Sliwanski, the Consul General of France in St Petersburg, and Mrs Eva Bertrand, Cooperation Adviser, paid a visit to HSE campus in St Petersburg to meet the team of the university and discuss collaboration prospects. The university was represented by Prof Sergey Kadochnikov, Prof Irina Shchemeleva, Prof Elena Rogova, Ms Elena Vandysheva and the team of the International Office.
HSE St. Petersburg and the University of Helsinki Launch New Joint Course
From January 2022, students of HSE St. Petersburg and the University of Helsinki can take a joint online course on social policy in Russia and other post-Soviet countries. It was designed for students of the master's programmes 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia', 'Comparative Politics of Russia and Eurasia', as well as for students of the master's program of the University of Helsinki. Dr Anna Tarasenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Comparative Governance Studies, takes us through the new course and her expectations from teaching in an innovative setting with foreign colleagues.
International Opportunities Online: Joint Courses Bring HSE’s and International Students Together
Call for Applications for the development and delivery of joint online courses with international partner universities completed at HSE University — St. Petersburg at the end of December. Now students of five educational programmes can take courses developed by lecturers from HSE and partner universities. Students of partner universities will take the courses along with students of HSE University — St. Petersburg.
Is There (NO)Future for Cultural Institution? International Seminar Takes Place in Istanbul
Dr Margarita Kuleva along with co-organisers Eda Yigit and Orhan Cem Çetin participated in the (NO) Future Institutions event held between the 15th and 17th December in Istanbul. Supported by the Centre for German and European Studies, St Petersburg State University, Bielefeld University and the ‘Digital Art History’ Research Group (HSE University), the seminar focused on the modern challenges facing cultural institutions, their curators, and associated workers. The event was introduced and chaired by Dr Kuleva, who was inspired by the rapid changes surrounding the future survival of cultural institutions in the pandemic age.

Master’s Programme 'Arts and Culture Management' Enters a Strategic Partnership with the State Hermitage
Under the agreement between HSE University and the State Hermitage, a separate agreement on a strategic partnership between the Master’s Programme in Arts and Culture Management and the museum has been established. As part of the partnership, Hermitage staff led two courses in the first semester of 2020: 'Art History and Contemporary Cultural Practices' and 'Art Management'.

Graduate Programme in Russian Literature Launches Double Degree Track
HSE University — Saint Petersburg and the Free University of Berlin have signed an agreement on a new double degree track for the Master's programme 'Russian Literature in Cross-cultural and Intermedial Perspective'. The agreement will enable advanced students have to spend the second year of their studies in Germany and earn diplomas from both partner universities.
HSE University – St. Petersburg and Ca' Foscari University of Venice Launch a Double Degree Programme in Asian Studies
Students of the Master's programme 'Business and Politics in Modern Asia' now have the opportunity to study in the programme of Ca' Foscari University ‘Language and Management in China' for a year. On completion of their studies, students will get diplomas of both universities.
