In June, as part of the Financial Management course (taught at the International Business and Management program), an open lecture was held with the participation of Olga Nikolaevna Voronova, Head of the Marketing Department of JSC Lengiprotrans. Practical aspects of working with investors and creditors were discussed at the lecture. Great attention was paid to preparing for pitching - presenting investment projects in the format of short presentations. The recommendations made during this open lecture were then applied by the students as part of the defense of projects that took place in the format of a 5-minute pitching.

On June 30, HSE University-St Petersburg gathered almost 5000 guests at KSK 'Arena' for the main event of this summer—graduation 2024. Bachelor's and master's students were congratulated by their friends and family, professors and faculty deans as well as HSE University-St Petersburg trustees. The master's programme 'Finance' at HSE University-St Petersburg has confirmed its international accreditation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for five years. Now, the programme graduates can skip several exams when joining ACCA. The qualification gives the alumni a competitive advantage when seeking employment in top Russian and international companies for positions related to finance and accounting.

The Master's programme "Finance" (direction 38.04.08 "Finance and Credit") has successfully confirmed accreditation by ACCA for the next 5 years.

A research group of students from the HSE campus in St. Petersburg: Andrey Shirshov and Ekaterina Kukovenko (BP International Business, 4 d year), led by Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Ph.D. Elizaveta Igorevna Markovskaya studied how the adaptation strategies of Russian small and medium-sized businesses, applied in response to sanctions from the United States and the European Union after the start of the special military operation, influenced the performance of firms in the short-term period.

Students of the School of Economics and Management took part in the international competition CFA Regional Societies Research Challenge which was held in Abu Dhabi (UAE). At this competition, the team from HSE University-St Petersburg represented Russia and took third place as a result.

On March 15, Markovskaya Elizaveta, associate professor of te department of finance,  and Kolawole Shola, lecturer of the Department of Management, held an interactive defense of projects in the form of business game within the discipline “Financial Performance Management” (Master’s program “Data Analytics for Business and Economics”) with the participation of invited external experts and practitioners.

Egor Akimov, a graduate of the Bachelor's programme 'International Business and Management', made the start of his career already during his studentship. He was accepted for an internship at 'Ozon', started working in the company and then became a product manager at 'Tinkoff'.
