Career Center Involvement in Mentorship Seminar for First-year Students
A meeting with representatives of the Career Development Center at HSE University in St. Petersburg was conducted in March 2025 via mentorship seminars. The session provided valuable insights into the career opportunities available for students and how the university supports professional growth.
The representatives of the Career Center took part in the event: Mariia Abramovich, Margarita Kadchik, Alexandra Polosukhina.
One of the highlights of the presentation was the extensive network of campus partners that HSE has established. With over 280 agreements, the university collaborates with more than 100 companies actively involved in projects through the Career Center. These partnerships result in approximately 800 exclusive job vacancies annually, specifically designed for HSE students. These partner companies offer internships for students who are still studying, providing them with invaluable practical experience.
The university's network includes prominent organizations such as Gazprom Neft, Sberbank, VK, Pulkovo and many others. These collaborations span various sectors, including consulting, marketing, information technology, and banking, offering students a wide range of opportunities.
The Career Development Center has implemented several programs aimed at supporting students throughout their academic journey and beyond. One such initiative is the Mentoring Program, designed to assist talented students in their personal and professional development. This program is particularly beneficial for first-year students who have been admitted based on their outstanding performance in Olympiad tests. Additionally, the Orientation Week provides first-year students with the opportunity to engage with graduates through a series of meetups. This helps new students gain insights into career paths and receive guidance from those who have successfully navigated their own professional journeys.

The university hosts various career-focused events, including Career Day, which takes place twice a year. This event serves as a meeting ground for business representatives, educators, professionals, and young talents. The Higher School of Career, held three times a year, offers intensive career development workshops, masterclasses, and training sessions for junior specialists. PROCareer, a bi-weekly series of masterclasses, features invited speakers from partner companies, providing students with exposure to industry experts and their insights. The podcast "About Balance and More" addresses the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, offering practical advice on relaxation, overcoming procrastination, and sustaining psychological well-being.
The meeting with the Career Development Center underscored HSE's commitment to career development through industry partnerships, mentoring programs, career events, and skill-building initiatives. By providing students with a robust foundation and continuous support, HSE ensures that its graduates are well-prepared to excel in their chosen careers and make a significant impact in the professional world.
