HSE Graduates Will Be Able to Confirm Their Qualifications More Easily with ACCA
The Higher School of Economics and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have signed an agreement of mutual understanding. The agreement will allow in the future for some of the subjects taught at HSE to be recognised in ACCA’s accreditation process and opens up possibilities for students and graduates of financial programmes.

For the First Time, HSE Enters QS Top 100 Subject Rankings
HSE has entered the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2015 in the top 51-100 in Development Studies, and is the only Russian university in this category.HSE is also the only Russian university to be ranked in the top 200 in two specific categories: Sociology, and Economics & Econometrics. The university also appears in the 151-200 rankings for Philosophy.
HSE Students Share Impressions from Exchange Programme at Aix-Marseille School of Economics
Irina Antoshchenkova and Alina Miller are students in the HSE Master’s programme in Applied Economics and Mathematical Methods. From October 2014 to January 2015, they studied as exchange students at Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE). AMSE recently published an interview with the Russian guests.
On the Past and Present
Nathan Marcus, Associate Professor in the Department of History at the St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences and Humanities, is currently teaching an undergraduate course in economic and financial history, and will offer a graduate-level course next year as part of the Applied and Interdisciplinary History master’s programme. The programme is almost ready to open, and will accept its first students in 2015.
Oxford Professor Visits HSE
At the invitation of the Laboratory of Sociology in Education and Science, renowned sociologist and statistician Tom Snijders is visiting HSE St. Petersburg on March 9-12. Dr. Snijders is a Professor at Oxford University (Great Britain), an emeritus fellow of Nuffield College, and a Professor at the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
Will Tourism Survive in a Changing World?
The international graduate student conference organized by the Master's Programme in Experience Economy, ‘Sustainable Tourism Development in the Changing World’ which took place from February 5-6 at HSE St. Petersburg, was a forum for the discussion of new approaches in researching the tourism and hospitality industries for young researchers from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, and South Korea.

Professor Valery Gordin, Head of the Faculty of Economics and Management at HSE St Petersburg, presents the Master’s Programme The Experience Economy: Hospitality and Tourism Management. He is academic supervisor of the course which comes under the Events Management and Cultural Tourism field of study at HSE St Petersburg. Teaching is in Russian and English.
