Internationalisation is one of the primary goals and values of HSE University-St Petersburg. Our university strives to be part of the international academic community, follow world educational standards, and provide students with ample opportunities. Students of HSE University-St Petersburg have well-developed cross-cultural communication skills thanks to international educational programmes, participation in international academic mobility and double-degree programmes, and daily interaction with students from all over the world.

For the third year running, HSE University has come first in the ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia, published for the fifth time by Forbes magazine.

Pavel Dolgov is a 2016 graduate of the Bachelor's programme 'Sociology'. To continue his education, Pavel chose a double-degree programme at HSE University-Moscow and, while getting his Master's degree, had a chance to study in Holland. In his interview, Pavel talks about sociology through the eyes of the graduate, scientific and UX research, studies abroad, and the inner workings of Alfa-Bank.

Nikita Barsukov graduated from the Bachelor's programme 'Political Science' in 2019 and the Master's programme 'Big Data Analytics for Business, Economics and Society' in 2021. During the senior years of his Bachelor's, a minor course helped Nikita to find his calling in software development. He is currently building his career in this field. In his interview, Nikita talks about his student years, finding a job of his liking, and the corporate culture of Tinkoff.

The Bachelor's programme 'Philology' welcomes both Russian and international students. We talked to Mikhail Beshimov, who entered HSE University-St Petersburg via the HSE International Olympiad and came to study from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In the interview, he shared his experience of participating in the Olympiad, the difficulties of moving to Russia and his first months study. Mikhail also shared some advice for international applicants who want to enrol in the Philology programme at HSE University-St Petersburg.

Anatolie Cecalenco was born in the Republic of Moldova and entered the Bachelor's programme 'Political Science' at HSE University. Then, he continued his education on the Master's programme 'Business and Politics in Modern Asia' at HSE University-St Petersburg. Currently, Anatolie is a PhD student and a lecturer at the campus. He also works as an ESG specialist for the company Business Solutions and Technology (which formerly operated in Russia as Deloitte). We talked to the PhD student about his studies and work.

HSE University has taken first place in the ranking of entrepreneurial universities compiled by the ‘Expert’ analytical centre. In four years, the university has risen by five positions. This year, HSE University received the maximum number of points in the categories ‘Founders’, ‘Startups’ and ‘Investments’.

On September 9, the GUM-Red-Line Gallery opened the personal exhibition 'Who Are They?' by artist, designer and curator of the HSE University-St Petersburg Art and Design School Andrey Lyublinskiy. The exhibition will last till November 1.
