The master's programme 'Finance' at HSE University-St Petersburg has confirmed its international accreditation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for five years. Now, the programme graduates can skip several exams when joining ACCA. The qualification gives the alumni a competitive advantage when seeking employment in top Russian and international companies for positions related to finance and accounting.

The Master's programme "Finance" (direction 38.04.08 "Finance and Credit") has successfully confirmed accreditation by ACCA for the next 5 years.

A research group of students from the HSE campus in St. Petersburg: Andrey Shirshov and Ekaterina Kukovenko (BP International Business, 4 d year), led by Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Ph.D. Elizaveta Igorevna Markovskaya studied how the adaptation strategies of Russian small and medium-sized businesses, applied in response to sanctions from the United States and the European Union after the start of the special military operation, influenced the performance of firms in the short-term period.

HSE University will develop academic cooperation with Indian universities. This is what the delegation of HSE University-St Petersburg headed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Campus Director, agreed on with several leading universities in India: the University of Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

During a visit to the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) by a HSE University-St Petersburg delegation led by campus Director Anna Tyshetskaya, the two universities agreed to create a mirror laboratory in the sphere of environmental behaviour, social well-being, and responsibility management.

A delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg has visited the University of Economics and Business—Vietnam National University (VNU-UEB) in Hanoi. During the visit, Manoj Sharma, Vice President of HSE University-St Petersburg, and Nguyen Truc Le, Chairman of VNU-UEB, signed a letter of intent on developing cooperation between the two universities.

This year, 60 HSE University-St Petersburg professors were named the best based on a student poll and the results of the Student Research Paper Competition. Sixteen of them have received this title three years in a row. Read on to find out more about the winners and the voting procedure.

This year, first-year students of the International Bachelor’s in Business and Economics will be divided into three educational cohorts according to their level of mathematical training. This will help winners of olympiads, applicants with high points, and graduates of specialised schools to continue to develop their skills, while helping other students to more easily adapt to the training schedule. In the next academic year, HSE University-St Petersburg will open a new master's programme in Data Analytics for Business and Economics. It utilises the combined experience of two other programmes, creating a symbiosis of the strongest and most in-demand courses. Natalia Volkova, Academic Supervisor of the programme, explains what kind of specialists the programme trains, which tracks are available for students, and which soft and hard skills they will gain.

In January 2023, the School of Economics and Management opened a new research laboratory: the Centre for Strategic Entrepreneurship, where researchers will examine entrepreneurial activities and strategic management. The new laboratory is headed by Galina Shirokova, Professor at the Department of Management.
