The academic year is gradually gaining momentum, and textbooks, along with academic papers, are becoming a part of bedtime reading. In the new joint master's programme 'Comparative Russian and Eurasian Politics', which will begin accepting applications in 2021, students will divide their time betwee University College London and HSE University - Saint Petersburg. Upon graduation, students will earn a double degree awarded by both universities. The programme is of interest of those who want to study politics in Russia and the post-Soviet region and gain a deeper knowledge of the area that will equip them for region-related careers or further study at the doctoral level.

Upon finishing undergraduate and graduate programmes in Political Science (2014, 2016), Sofia Glazunova went to study in a PhD programme in Australia. Now Sofia is a research fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), lecturer, and the author of the book I'm Going to Live in Brisbane, dedicated to her experience of moving to Australia and myths about studying abroad. In an interview, Sofia discusses her blog on Telegram, how it was transformed into a book, and the pitfalls one can encounter in the publishing business.

The Centre for Youth Studies organized a course 'Urban Youth Cultures' for students of Aarhus University (Denmark). The faculty of the Department of Sociology and a student of the programme 'Modern Social Analysis' talk about the Denmark students' research topics and distance learning.

This year our bachelor's programme 'Political Science and World Politics' is launching a new regional track, the Post-Soviet Space. We have talked to Anna Dekalchuk, the Academic Director of the programme, to learn more about the updates made for our future and current students.

We invite you to participate in the 2nd St. Petersburg International Conference on Inequality and Diversity (IDC), organized by St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences and Area Studies of the Higher School of Economics. The Conference will be held November 5 - 7 in St. Petersburg. The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2020.

In February, Natalia Ribberink, Professor of International Business at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, an expert on business and investment in Southeast Asia and global trade, gave a course on 'Business and Politics in Modern Asia' master's programme. A first-year student of the programme talked to the Professor about modern geopolitical processes and interdisciplinary education.

Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA) recognized undergraduate programme 'Political Science and World Politics' and master's programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia' as meeting international quality standards of education. Both programs are accredited for six years without additional conditions.
