From next year, students of the Bachelor's programme 'Political Science and World Politics' will be able to develop their skills of project activities in a specialised seminar and in the course of projects based on the method of 'project service learning'. Magdalena Gaete, a head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education (RepLab), will deliver the project seminar and coordinate projects. We talked to Prof Gaete about what students should expect from the programme and why participation in projects is useful.

This material is prepared by the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education in collaboration with Social Investment and Innovation Agency (autonomous non-profit organization) as a part of “Developing intellectual volunteering in social responsibility & entrepreneurship of universities” project. This project received support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.

The participants discussed implementing the ESG agenda within the learning process of the university, project learning possibilities, intellectual volunteering, and communication strategies. Moscow and Saint Petersburg campuses, in collaboration with the Agency for Social Investment and Innovation, presented the “Tell the World” project.

About reputation management, different academic cultures and building successful careers.

What has been the impact of the pandemic on the international relations of universities? Who should manage the internationalization of research at universities? Magdalena Gaete, a representative of the University of Navarra, discusses the challenges that universities face today, and what Russian universities should do to join the ranks of the world's top institutions of higher education.

On 22-23 May, HSE University – St Petersburg will host the sixth annual international conference, ‘Education and World Cities 2019: New Horizons in University Reputation’. This year, the conference will focus on the issue of universities' reputations and brands beyond the world’s university ranking systems.
