In October, the faculty and staff of HSE University-St Petersburg held the HSE International Olympiad and Mathematical Olympiad by HSE University at three schools in Hanoi. The tasks on social sciences were designed by professors of HSE University-St Petersburg. During the trip, the delegation also visited higher education institutions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB), a partner of HSE University-St Petersburg. There, professors delivered a series of open lectures for students.

On September 23, the Second Expedition to the Himalayas to Start
Pretty soon, HSE University-St Petersburg will go on the second expedition to the Himalayas organised together with the University of Delhi. This time, researchers will visit the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh which is known for more severe weather conditions at this time of the year. Together with colleagues from the Indian university, they will continue to study how the local communities adapt to ecological and climatic changes, focusing on the sociological aspect of the research.

Students of HSE University-St Petersburg Explore Social Aspects of Climate Change during the Expedition in the Himalayas
Six HSE students have returned from the expedition to the Himalayas organised by the St Petersburg School of Social Sciences and the University of Delhi. Together with colleagues from the Indian university, they studied local mountain communities of the western part of the Himalayas. The intermediate result of this trip was three hypotheses about the sustainable development of the region. The international project was the first stage of joint climate change research planned for five years.

HSE University-St Petersburg hosted the Indian Students Week. The event gathered more than 50 students from India. The students represented 15 top universities in the country. In particular, there were representatives of IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, UPES, IIM Amritsar and others. The goal of this large-scale initiative of HSE University-St Petersburg is to introduce talented students from India to educational opportunities in Russia, in particular, HSE educational programmes in four directions: business and economics, design, social and computer sciences.

The results of the double degree program competition with the University of Trento have been announced
Last week, the results of the competition for double degree programs became known. Four 1st-year students of the Comparative Politics of Eurasia program won the opportunity to spend the next academic year at the partner university of the program and receive two diplomas at the end of their studies - the HSE in St. Petersburgand and the University of Trento.
