About Us
Saint-Petersburg School of Social Sciences is an international centre for studies of societies and states. The School offers ambitious students the latest knowledge of socio-economic and political development of Russia and other nations and societies, bringing together academics of three departments (Public Administration, Political Science and Sociology) and six research centres. This knowledge is based on contemporary research methods and variety of teaching formats – from courses to research and applied projects.
Our core values are:
Knowledge for Social Development
We produce and spread knowledge primarily to support socio-economic and political development of Saint-Petersburg, Russian and global society.
Education for Global Citizens
Our programmes are addressed not only to Russian citizens, but to the people all around the world who are interested in modern trends of the development of societies and states.
Interdisciplinary Social Studies
The best social knowledge comes from combining different fields of study, not only social but also humanities and mathematics. We enjoy all appropriate tools to analyze data and establish new theoretical and applied products.
These values define the most important areas of the School’s activity:
Creating a pool of international educational programmes taught in English with a dual degree option,
Integration of the School’s research centres to international projects aimed at the development of comparative studies of states and societies,
Creating products useful for society to transform the results of educational and research centres’ work to open lectures, books, policy briefs and recommendations,
