In early March, representatives of HSE University-St Petersburg organised a series of entry competitions for applicants from China. The exams were held in three cities—Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu—at the Russian Cultural Centre (RCC) in Beijing and leading Chinese universities.

A delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by Director Anna Tyshetskaya has visited more than ten universities in Japan to strengthen research and academic cooperation. HSE representatives met the heads of the country's leading universities, including Soka University, Tokai University, Sophia University, Hitotsubashi University, Hosei University, Osaka University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and others. Among the priority areas of cooperation are humanities and Asian and African research, online training, and academic exchange programmes.

Students of HSE University-St Petersburg can go on exchange studies abroad not only during the bachelor's degree. Daria Orekhova, a 2nd-year student of the Master's programme 'Media Production and Media Analytics', spent the autumn semester at one of the best universities in China. A delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by Evgeny Zelenev, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Studies, has visited the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS). The meeting marked a new stage of cooperation development between the leading educational institutions in Russia and Uzbekistan.

The building at Griboyedova Canal Embankment hosted a meeting with international students from the South Korean universities of Chung Ang and Kyung Hee, as well as HSE students who went to South Korea on an academic mobility programme.

HSE University and the Russian House in Indonesia have held the first offline INTO HSE olympiad in Jakarta. It is a new, free event in English for international school students.

In autumn of 2024, a delegation from Malaysia, led by Minister of Higher Education Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, visited the HSE campus in St Petersburg. One of the key topics of discussion was the initial results of the mirror laboratory, a joint initiative between HSE University-St Petersburg and the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM).

The HSE building on Kantemirovskaya Street hosted the first meeting of the project 'Mexican Traditions—Why Are Mexicans Always Happy?' Students and professors learnt about national festivals, customs, and traditions in Latin America, as well as opportunities for academic mobility.
