Sociologists at Yandex: Dina Vasina Talks on her Internship in Product Management
During her studies in the Sociology and Social Informatics programme, a fourth-year student Dina Vasina got interested in disciplines related to data analysis and mathematics. In November, Dina completed her internship at Yandex within the Yandex.Poisk project where she got a chance to try her hand at product management. In this interview, the student shared with us her thoughts on studying sociology, future career plans and impressions on the internship.

HSE – St. Petersburg School of Design Come Out on Top at the St. Petersburg Young Design Contest
Students of the HSE – St. Petersburg School of Design took part in St. Petersburg Young Design – a contest for young designers and artists. Alexandra Arsentieva clinched first place in the ‘Community’ special project, Ksenia Gernik won second place in the ‘Recycle Sea’ nomination, and another unique project by HSE students was a finalist in the ‘Saint-Petersburg Merchandise’ nomination. The participants also got a chance to learn new things at a unique poster workshop curated for the competition by Mitya Kharshak, Head of the School of Design.

HSE University Appears in Twice as Many Top 100 Subject Rankings as Last Year
The publication of the latest Times Higher Education subject rankings in the Arts and Humanities concludes the annual cycle of the three main ranking agencies: THE, QS, and ARWU. Since last year, HSE University has managed to double the number of top 100 subject rankings it appears in, growing from 6 to 12.

Due to the threat of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 and in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, HSE University – St. Petersburg will temporarily switch to a distance learning. HSE University – St Petersburg Launches Joint Projects with the Maison Cartier
Within the framework of the ‘Cartier & HSE: the Future is Youth’ meeting, a presentation dedicated to the partnership between the HSE campus in Saint Petersburg and a world-famous luxury jewellery house took place with the participation of Yanina Novitskaya, Managing Director of Cartier in Russia, Ukraine, and the CIS, and Sergey Kadochnikov, Director of the HSE Campus in St Petersburg.

Last Call: International Applicants Can Still Apply for HSE University Scholarships
If you are an international applicant, you still have time to apply for scholarships from HSE University. The full-tuition scholarships are awarded annually in May. This year, the Scholarship Committee will meet for the last time on May 27, 2021 to determine who receives full and partial scholarships.

'In the Modern World, Being able to Work in an International Team Is Crucial'
Students of HSE University – St. Petersburg participated in the Global COVID Research Project of Connecticut College, devoted to the studies of the consequences of the COVID pandemic in different spheres. Interdisciplinary teams representing five universities worked on their research skills and gained experience working as part of an international team.
