The results of the double degree program competition with the University of Trento have been announced

Last week, the results of the competition for double degree programs became known. Four 1st-year students of the Comparative Politics of Eurasia program won the opportunity to spend the next academic year at the partner university of the program and receive two diplomas at the end of their studies - the HSE in St. Petersburgand and the University of Trento.
We talked to the winners of the competition and found out what they expect from studying in Italy.

I applied for "Comparative Politics of Eurasia" because I already knew about the possibility of spending a year at the University of Trento. It just so happened that this university offers quite strong courses on international conflicts, which directly align with my academic interests. For example, the entire Master in International Security Studies programme is built around these courses. Fortunately, by enrolling in the double degree program at the HSE in Saint-Petersburg and Trento, you can choose these courses as well. I plan to take full advantage of all these opportunities offered by the University of Trento.
I'm already looking forward to what awaits me next year. To anyone who is hesitating whether to apply or not, my answer is unequivocally to apply!

I applied for the double degree programme for two reasons. Firstly, I had already travelled for mobility during my undergraduate studies and I enjoyed it very much. Now, I can go for a year and get two diplomas, so it would be remiss not to seize such this opportunity. Secondly, I always tell everyone (including myself) how important it is to build a strong portfolio. It has helped me many times in my life, so if you have a chance to improve your CV you should do it.
What do I plan to do in Italy? First of all, I would like to experience a European education, maybe I would like to stay there, or vice versa - come back. I have been to Italy several times, but not to the northern part, so Trento will certainly be a new experience in terms of travelling. I also want to write a good Master's thesis. I have found a professor in Trento who matches my research interests, so my studies are my priority on this trip and the rest will follow.
We're going as a foursome too, so it's not so scary, on the contrary, a sense of adventure has been awakened in me and I'm ready to embark on this journey.

The double degree programme is a wonderful opportunity to gain invaluable academic experience and offers great prospects for future development. At first I didn't think I'd be nominated to join the double degree, but my efforts were not wasted and I'm very happy about that.
My main expectations of studying in Trento are to gain significant life and academic experience, to make new and valuable connections, and to deepen my knowledge to further my career.

Participating in the double degree programme provides me with a unique academic opportunity to realise my potential at a foreign university and contributes to my further professional development. Studying at the University of Trento will not only immerse me in an international environment and facilitate new connections, but will also allow me to acquire new knowledge and skills, given the interdisciplinary nature of the programme. Such an approach allows for a comprehensive understanding and awareness of the contemporary political situation, thus enhancing competitiveness in the professional field. As my research interests focus on issues of Euroscepticism in the context of migration crises, particularly in Germany and Italy, I plan to carry out field research under the guidance of professors in Trento. This international experience will therefore make a significant contribution to my personal development.
