Mitya Kharshak, Dean of the St Petersburg School of Art and Design, delivered a lecture on typography and a workshop on lettering in South Asia.

The master’s programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia' trains specialists who can choose various professional paths. The students not only master theoretical aspects of international relations and politics but also develop themselves in the applied spheres. In the interview, Andrey Starodubtsev, academic supervisor of the programme, shared some details about the curriculum, student projects, and career opportunities for graduates.

The hero of the April interview is Evgeny Akulov, a 2021 graduate of the bachelor's programme 'Political Science and World Politics' and a 2024 graduate of the master's programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia'. He is sure that political science is not about 'politics', it's about a mindset, analysis and an ability to debate correctly. Back in school, Evgeny took an interest in debating—and this hobby has turned into a profession. At HSE University, he became the head of the club 'HSE Debating Society' ('ВШЭсть') and took part in championships, including a world one. HSE University is not only about studies, it gives the students much more. Enowmanyi Samuel Ayuk, a second-year student in the Master’s programme ‘International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region’, came to Russia from Cameroon. With a background as an award-winning debater and a passion for leadership, he enthusiastically contributes to the life of HSE University-St Petersburg: he has become an international ambassador of the university and a member of the HSE University Students’ Council. In the interview, the student shares his story and impressions of his studies. 

The HSE building on Kantemirovskaya Street hosted a fair that united the representatives of various nationalities of Russia. Dagestanis, Komi-Permyaks, Russians, Yakuts, Nenets and Pomors presented their native land, showcased national dishes, organised workshops and performed a concert programme.

HSE University was the only participant from Russia to hold its own expert sessions at the annual conference and exhibition of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). The delegation was headed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University–St Petersburg.
