Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course is about (1) the design and implementation of talent management strategies, processes, and practices, as well as (2) the collection and analysis of data on talented workers for effective decision-making at the individual, group, and firm levels. This course adopts the viewpoints of different stakeholders (HR specialists, top management, talents) and addresses HR-related topics from a strategic perspective: conceptualization and operationalization of ‘talent’, global talent management and talent migration, technological (innovative) solutions to attracting, developing, empowering, and retaining ‘A’ players. The main objective of this course to learn to think systematically and strategically about the core aspects of managing a firm’s top performers and use analytical tools to build an effective HR system.
