On May 18, 2023, HSE University and the University of Technology Malaysia signed an agreement on scientific and educational cooperation at the XIV International Economic Forum ‘Russia—Islamic World: KazanForum’. The agreement was signed by HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov and UTM Vice Chancellor Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail.

The ‘Expert’ analytical centre has published its ranking of the publication activity of Russian universities for 2023. HSE University has improved its position in six subjects and two narrow sections.

Ekaterina Shelukhina is completing her fourth year of studies in the Bachelor's programme 'Applied Mathematics and Information Science'. In autumn, she passed the selection process for the VK project workshop. There, she works on the interface of the Robbi machine-learning platform. Ekaterina shared her impressions of the project and her trip to Moscow.

On April 20, the conference 'CIBA: Creative Industries. Business. Art' took place. It was organised by students of the Master's programme 'Arts and Culture Management' in cooperation with the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The event was attended by 225 people, and the online broadcast on the VK social network had more than 230,000 views.

In April, HSE University-St Petersburg held its fifth International Model United Nations conference. For the first time since 2019, it was held in person. More than 140 participants were in attendance, including experts, university students and schoolchildren.

In March, the annual pre-graduate practice of 2nd-year master's degree students ended. Students shared their impressions about the practice, tasks and about the Ingria business incubator, which has been a partner of the St. Petersburg HSE for almost 5 years.

China and Russia have numerous opportunities for future mutual development while respecting each other’s traditions and cultural backgrounds. These possibilities are enhanced by the Master’s programme ‘Arts and Culture Management’, which has already welcomed students from China. They shared their impressions of their studies and how they see ‘a heaven in a wild flower’ (William Blake, 1803) in St Petersburg's everyday life.

On March 16, the results of the Open Doors International Olympiad for master’s and doctoral applicants were announced. The competition is organised by the Association of Global Universities with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). HSE University is one of the Olympiad’s organisers and the site of its distributed project office.
