HSE Project Ranks in Top 10 at StudFest Student Entrepreneurship Festival
The ViSaver project—a service for instant in-video search, generating time codes, summaries, and test questions based on video content—made it into the top ten of the ‘I Create Business’ competition track at this year's StudFest International Student Entrepreneurship Festival. On January 25, Russian Students' Day, HSE University-St Petersburg will open a new educational space in the building of the Rope Shop of the Red Nailer factory on Vasilievsky Island. The monument of constructivism, which was designed by the prominent architect Yakov Chernikhov, will become a centre for the development of IT, engineering, design and media communications. Approximately four thousand students will study in the building.

In the framework of the academic mission to Latin America, the delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by director Anna Tyshetskaya visited several universities in Mexico. During this trip, HSE signed cooperation agreements with two leading universities: Panamerican University and Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP).
HSE University Develops Research and Academic Partnership with Malaysia
The delegation from Malaysia headed by Zambry Abdul Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education, visited HSE University-St Petersburg on October 10. Among the key topics of the meeting was the discussion of the first results of the mirror laboratory run by HSE University-St Petersburg and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Graduate of HSE University in St Petersburg Receives Award at ‘Chinese Bridge’ Competition in Beijing
In early September 2024, Anastasia Usyk, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Programme in Asian and African Studies at HSE University in St Petersburg, participated in the final round of the ‘Chinese Bridge’ International Language Competition in Beijing, where she won the first prize in online voting and received the Audience Award and the Award for Most Outstanding Performance. She spoke about her experience in the competition, her studies and future plans in an interview with HSE News Service.
On September 23, the Second Expedition to the Himalayas to Start
Pretty soon, HSE University-St Petersburg will go on the second expedition to the Himalayas organised together with the University of Delhi. This time, researchers will visit the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh which is known for more severe weather conditions at this time of the year. Together with colleagues from the Indian university, they will continue to study how the local communities adapt to ecological and climatic changes, focusing on the sociological aspect of the research.
