St.Petersburg School of Economics and Management

International educational experience: new horizons of cooperation

From 12 to 18 May, a group of first-year students from the master's program "Management and Analytics for business" and "Finance" visited Solvay school of Economics and Management (SBS-EM) in Brussels as part of a study tour.

The main goal was to attend several courses and present a group project at the end. The program of stay of the students consisted of several parts: in the first half of the day, the students listened to the mandatory courses and in the second half of the day they visited companies in the city and interacted with various representatives from different departments. During leisure time students could opt for deeper immersiothe delving into their project work and of course enjoying the beauty sites the cities has to offer. Every day was full of new and exciting imformation, ranging from new software for data analysis and financial decision-making to local cuisine and tourist attractions.

The program was designed in such a way that the courses on Finance and data analysis - the main areas of training for our students - were equally balanced and accompanied by courses on entrepreneurship and intellectual property. Courses that were attended: banking perspectives of financial integration in Europe, theory, and methodology of data analysis, consideration of business cases that require data analysis to improve business efficiency, intellectual property rights, the patent system in Europe and the United States

This educational journey is not the first example of cooperation with the HSE St. Petersburg School of Economics and management. The two schools continue to work closely together in the framework of the international network master of quantitative methods in Economics and management QTEM among educational projects and exchanges. The international study tour is a recent initiative launched by the SBS-EM talent Bureau to provide an individualized educational experience to international students. Our students were the very first to go on this week-long journey to get an idea of what it's like to study in the heart of Europe.
