Assessment Elements

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Mid-term test
The test includes 10 practical exercises. Each exercise weighs 1 point, incorrect exercise 0 points. Duration: 80 minutes.
  • non-blocking Final Project
This is a group assignment. Students organize themselves into a small teams of 2-3. Each participant would be evaluated equally. Example of possible project design Project Description: As an undergraduate student in retail management, you will undertake a project to analyze and present the performance of a retail company using Power BI. The project will involve working with real-world retail data to gain insights and make data-driven decisions. Objectives: The main objectives of the project are as follows: 1. Analyze Sales Performance: Analyze the sales data of the retail company to identify key trends, patterns, and factors impacting sales. 2. Customer Segmentation: Conduct customer segmentation based on purchasing behavior and demographics to identify customer groups with different needs and preferences. 3. Inventory Management: Analyze inventory data to identify popular products, slow-moving items, and optimize stock levels based on customer demand. 4. Store Performance: Assess the performance of different store locations based on sales, customer footfall, and other relevant metrics. 5. Marketing Analysis: Analyze marketing campaign data and customer response to determine the effectiveness of different marketing initiatives. Note: The specific scope and requirements of the project can be adjusted based on the available data and the interests of the student.
  • non-blocking Final test
Instructions: Please complete the following tasks using Microsoft Power BI based on the given scenario and dataset. You will be assessed on your ability to manipulate data, create visualizations, and derive meaningful insights. Scenario: You are a data analyst at a retail company. The company wants to analyze sales performance across different regions and product categories. They have provided you with a dataset containing sales data for the past year. Your task is to analyze the data and create a visual dashboard to present key insights. Dataset: The dataset consists of the following columns: Date: Date of the transaction Region: Region in which the sale occurred (e.g., North, South, East, West) Product Category: Category of the product sold (e.g., Electronics, Clothing, Home Appliances) Sales: Sale amount in USD
