AI & the City: Exploring St Petersburg Through Creative Communication
July 7 – 11
In-person
Language: English
Course Description
This summer, step beyond the familiar and into the dynamic intersection of AI and creative communication. In this one-week intensive course, you’ll push the limits of AI tools to craft bold, experimental, and deeply personal projects. Held in St Petersburg, Russia—a city rich in history, culture, and contradictions—you will explore how AI can be a tool for storytelling, artistic expression, and design innovation.
How does a place shape perception? How can AI help translate first impressions into compelling creative narratives? As you navigate St Petersburg’s grand architecture, underground art scenes, and cultural paradoxes, you’ll develop projects that reflect your unique perspective. You’ll have complete freedom in choosing AI tools—whether for image-making, text generation, sound design, or interactive experiences. The goal? To stretch AI beyond its conventional uses and challenge the boundaries of authorship, creativity, and communication.
The course culminates in an open critique, where you’ll present your work and engage in a lively discussion about the role of AI in shaping the future of design. If you’re curious, adventurous, and ready to experiment, this course is for you.
