Being a university ambassador is an exciting experience. It's a chance to be a part of something bigger.

Choosing a university is not an easy task. When I started my own journey of searching for a university, I faced numerous difficulties and challenges. I was overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available online, and I found it a struggle to navigate through it all. I longed for personal experiences and insights from individuals who had already gone through the process. And now this project allows applicants to get more information not only from official sites but also from the personal experience of students. After all, the university is not just a place where you get an education, it is a place where you can find yourself, your people, your experience and your place in life. Now I'm also a tutor in the Association of International Students HSE University-St Petersburg and can help international first-years, and now I also can help applicants!

My name is Daniyar, and I am from Kazakhstan. This year, I am graduating from HSE University-St Petersburg, majoring in ‘International Business and Management’.

During my studies, I have achieved a lot. As a delegate of the student council, I organised the first Mental Health Week, where students could attend lectures with psychologists. I also participated in events of the Association of International Students and a double-degree programme, spending a year at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’ in Italy.

Currently, I am developing a career in Data Science, participating in hackathons and case championships, in some of which I have won prizes. We are also launching the innovative HSE AI & Blockchain Club project.

HSE University indeed has a unique community. I have gained a lot from students, professors, and university staff. Now, I am eager to share my knowledge and experience and create content to inspire international students to achieve new heights.

As an aspiring diplomat and current sophomore student of ‘Political Science and World Politics’ at HSE University-St Petersburg, my name is Akabueze Daniel Onyekachukwu. Before joining HSE University in 2022, I had three goals in mind that I wanted to achieve before graduation, and one of them was becoming an HSE University International Ambassador.

The title ‘Ambassador’ caught my attention for two reasons. Firstly, I aspire to serve my country as a diplomat, and secondly, it's a prestigious title. After a year at HSE University, I realised that I would like to increase the number of bachelor’s students from Nigeria here. This realisation led me to apply for the position of International Ambassador, as it would provide an official platform for me to promote and recruit students from my country.

In addition to this, I hope to use this opportunity to assist other international students with informal queries about living and studying in Russia.

An interesting fact is that I want the title ‘International Ambassador’ on my resume as it will enhance my professional profile and demonstrate my leadership skills.

Hello! I am Angelina, a first-year student of the Bachelor’s programme ‘Law’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. I'm from Аzerbaijan, Baku. I have decided to become an ambassador because when entering the university, I faced such a problem of not knowing who to turn to for more information about exams for international students as well as academic and extracurricular life. So now, I would like to help prospective students of HSE University to sort out their issues related to the educational process and life in Russia outside the classroom and attract more applicants to the National Research University Higher School of Economics in St Petersburg.

Hello! My name is Anna, I am a first-year student of the Bachelor’s programme ‘Political Science and World Politics’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. I am from Belarus, entered this university via the HSE International Olympiad for international students and wanted to be an ambassador in this project. Every person has a certain moment in life when they begin to think about future education and start surfing the internet, looking up information about universities, learning processes and so on. Most often, the information on a university website is limited, and not everything is clear. Fortunately, such a project like this can help people find all the necessary information and learn more about the international community at HSE University, which always supports you. Moreover, I would like to share some tips and secrets, which you could hardly find online because they are based on my personal experience of living in the city on the Neva river and studying at Higher School of Economics.

Hello there, my name is Manas Sunil Warbhuvan, and I am from India. My journey in Russia started when I arrived in Moscow to study the Russian language at HSE University-Moscow. This year, I became a first-year student at HSE University-St Petersburg in the programme ‘International Bachelor’s in Business and Economics’.

I would say these two years have been the most wonderful years of my life.  I got to meet a lot of new people all across the world and to know a unique culture. Studying abroad is quite challenging but it teaches you a lot of new things at the same time. I chose to become an ambassador as I have a lot of experience that I can share with the upcoming students who wish to study at HSE University. I can give them advice regarding the ways to get used to a new life.

Finally, I think this project would give me an opportunity to enlarge my social circle and also gain some skills that I lack along with being a helping hand for future HSE students.

Hi everyone! My name is Rakhmetulla, I am a first-year student of the Master's programme ‘Civil and Commercial Law’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. I received my bachelor's degree also at HSE, and when I was in my first year, I regretted that I learned about this university very late, because if I had learned about it at least two years earlier, I would have prepared better for the entrance exams and studied at the bachelor's degree without paying tuition fees. One of the reasons I decided to become an ambassador is to increase the recognition of the university.
