Hi, my name is Aleksiya! I am a third-year student of the Design school, specializing in typography. Despite the heavy workload during my studies, HSE University has become the best place to study for me. We have the opportunity to study various interesting disciplines in addition to the main educational track. Of course, we spend a lot of time and put in much effort studying, but it is worth it.

In addition to my studies, I work in SEO, study at a voice acting school, attend a modeling studio, participate in the filming of TV series, have written two books and draw cartoons. If there is a desire, then there will be time for both studies and hobbies!

In my first year, I recorded videos on YouTube where I talked about my studies at HSE University. Foreign applicants found me on social networks and asked about the admissions. I am glad they chose my university! I want all the students to have as much fun learning as I did.

Hello there! My name is Ilyas, I am a third-year student of ‘Logistics’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. Being an ambassador in this project means a lot to me because of the difficulties I faced when I started to search for a university, which would suit me. The lack of the experience, which people had shared about their learning process, aggravated the situation. Fortunately, now such a project can help people to find their places. I have been a representative of the Association of International Students for two years now and have organised events on numerous occasions connected with HSE University and educational process. Moreover, I am going to tell the applicants some tips and secrets, which they could hardly find online because they are based on my personal experience.

Hello! My name is Julia. At the moment, I am 19 years old. I come from the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the capital of which is the city of Tiraspol. I am a second-year student of ‘Law’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. Having studied here for a sufficient amount of time, I can confidently say that the university provides great opportunities, both in the field of education and outside of the curriculum. Thanks to the activities of the university, there are ample opportunities to reveal the students’ potential. During the training, I learned a lot of interesting information that the lectures provided us with. I also met many people from different countries. It is wonderful to communicate with people from different nations; everyone has their own worldview, their own traditions, and their own history. Hello! My name is Dasha, I am from Kazakhstan, Almaty. I am the second-year student of the Bachelor’s programme ‘International Business and Management Studies’ at HSE University-St Petersburg. I have found and chosen this university and this programme in particular by myself. Therefore, I am satisfied with my decision, although I could make a wrong choice. It was the end of the quarantine when I graduated school and the only way to collect information about HSE University was on the Internet. Unfortunately, the representatives of HSE University were not able to arrange a meeting on an exhibition in my city. First of all, I would like to change it and try to spread the information about HSE University in my motherland (and beyond), help applicants to collect the latest and most important information about the admissions and studying at our university. Since I am also a tutor in the HSE Association of International Students, I think I can be helpful for students and assist them with adaptation at the university and the country.

Hi! My name is Dima, I'm a fourth-year student of the Bachelor’s programme ‘Design’ at HSE University, majoring in typography. I remember the meeting with HSE ambassadors when I was at school. It was very pleasant for me to see them: guys from my country who are only a couple of years older than me, live and study in Russia at an excellent university. Back then, it seemed unreal to me. But personally, I didn’t get enough answers about the Design track, none of the ambassadors knew anything about it. Therefore, my friends and I had to figure it out on our own. Participation in this project is very important to me. Besides, I want to do something useful and important for the university and the school students from my country. 

Hello, my name is Rakhmetulla and currently I am a fourth-year undergraduate student. My country of origin is Uzbekistan, in particular, Autonomus Republic of Karakalpakstan. Completing my studies at the university, I have gained a huge amount of experience in cooperation. The university provided me with lots of support, which helped to take advantage of opportunities. My name is Kajal Kumari from Pakistan. I am a first-year student of the Master’s programme ‘International Business’. I am happy to be a part of HSE University. There are many international students in this university, which creates the international friendly environment. Whereas, Russians are also very cooperative and helpful. I came from small city of Pakistan, where I did not have much opportunities and I always wanted to go abroad to experience different cultures and meet new people. Therefore, I applied for the ‘Open doors’ and, fortunately, got full scholarship as my name appeared in the ‘Winner’ List. When I came here, I experienced entirely different culture, values and norms, which helped me to see the world from different point of view. I am glad to be a student of HSE University. I will encourage and support people from my country and create awareness about Russia and HSE University to help them get education in one of the top universities of Russia.

I am excited to be a part of the Ambassadors community at HSE University-St Petersburg. My experience in HSE was one of the greatest. I would say that HSE University is not only about education, but also about new achievements in every field of life. In addition, I am grateful to HSE for giving me so many opportunities to meet new amazing people. I would not say that my experience at HSE University was easy. It was rather tough. However, I would not be the same person who I am right now without this great university. HSE taught me that nothing is impossible and made me believe in myself.
