ONLINE LEARNING

GENERAL INFORMATION

On the very first day of the Research School, there will be an Orientation Session where students will learn more about HSE University, Russia, and St. Peterburg. They will also be introduced to their academic coordinators, lecturers, and the Research School team members.

The Research School lasts 3 weeks. Please expect to have classes every day except for Saturdays and Sundays. Classes and tutorials will begin no earlier than 6 p.m. (Moscow Time, GMT +3). The typical duration of a lesson at HSE is 1 h 20 min. The break lasts 20 min.

On the last day of the Research School, participants will be presenting their individual or group research projects.

CLASSES

Students should expect to have 1 or 2 live classes (lectures and seminars) with the HSE lecturers, depending on a schedule. These classes are delivered on MS Teams platform, which provides opportunities to have interactive video calls and sharing materials as required. If needed, students will have an opportunity to break into smaller groups. Moreover, students will be able to use this very MS Teams chat to have conversations with your classmates and lecturers, as well as share materials and findings 24/7.

TUTORIALS

Apart from classes, students will have tutorials with the lecturers of their tracks, where they will be discussing relevant topics to develop key academic and research skills while preparing their research projects.

RESEARCH PROJECT

Research project, which is a pivotal part of the Research School, will culminate in a group or individual presentation.
