The Spirit of the North Caucasus: new articles by the Centre for Youth Studies
In the recent issue of Sociological Research in 2026, two articles by CYS researchers based on the materials of expeditions to the North Caucasus were published at once. Elena Omelchenko and Irina Lisovskaya look at how young people in the cities of the region explain their migration intentions. In their article, Evgenia Kuziner and Natalia Solovyova analyze the practices of youth creativity by comparing two cases (Nalchik and Pyatigorsk).
CYS is writing a book!
The CYS team is working on the creation of a monograph based on the materials of projects supported by the Russian Science Foundation. The first step is a creative writing course from the HSE teachers, for vivid style and creative inspiration. We will tell you how the preparation is going and share our colleagues' impressions of the first stages of work.
The Talent Factory: a new CYS project about extracurricular activities in the St. Petersburg HSE
In February, a new CYS project was launched on the study of diverse extracurricular activities on the St. Petersburg campus, their potential and importance for students. This is the first time such a study has been conducted at the Higher School of Economics.
