The role of youth in the innovative development of the city: a new project of the Centre for Youth studies

The focus will be on young professionals from the regions involved in creative industries and contributing to the development of their cities. Creative industries include cultural heritage, art, media industry and functional creativity.

Project objectives:

  • To determine how the youth of small towns in the Northwestern region sees and interprets today's life.
  • To identify how young people assess the dynamics of the development of their cities over the past 5 years.
  • To describe the perception of the "genius of the place" by young people.
  • Identify "urban places of power" for young people – spaces that create opportunities for creativity and innovation.
  • Describe the ways, channels, ways of involving young people in the life of cities, social networks and cultural capital of youth communities that contribute to the inclusion of young citizens.
  • Identify barriers and limitations in youth access to participation in urban development.
  • To identify the key characteristics of the innovative potential of youth for urban development.
