Printmaking with Your Own Hands
Course Description
Each day, students study one of the types of engraving and make prints. The course will finish with making creative works in the chosen technique. The intensive programme also includes visits to museums and galleries in St Petersburg, meetings with various artists in their studios.
Schedule
Day 1 / June 10
1. Introduction to Printmaking, Relief print / Collography (4 academic hours);
2. Visiting contemporary art galleries and creative spaces;
3. City tour
Day 2 / June 11
1. Relief print / Linocut / Relief print / Chinecolle, using coloured paper, ready-made prints (4 academic hours);
2. Lecture by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL curator
Day 3 / June 12
Excursion to Peterhof
Day 4 / June 13
1. Monotype / Black and white monotype / Colour monotype (4 academic hours);
2. Visiting contemporary art galleries and creative spaces
Day 5 / June 14
1. Intaglio / Dry point / Intaglio / Etching / Aquatint (4 academic hours);
2. Lecture by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL curator
Day 6 / June 15
1. Excursion to The State Hermitage Museum;
2. Boat trip
Final Assessment
Individual project presentation.
