Meet Us on-Campus or Online

The enrollment campaign for 2018 is in full swing which means that now is the time to check out information about student life in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, university admissions and accommodation possibilities at HSE University in St. Petersburg.

Open Day is always a great opportunity to come and see the university that you want to study at, ask questions and get answers directly from staff and students.

We are excited to announce that the next Open Day for undergraduates and graduates will be on June 13, 2018. The schedule will be available closer to the time, but here we’ll tell you a bit about the first Open Day of 2018, which took place on March 15.

More than 30 students from China attended. These students are completing their preparatory year at various universities in St. Petersburg and are going to apply for study programmes.

They were given a tour of the campus which was followed by a presentation on the university itself, Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, entrance requirements and application procedures. During the presentation, many different questions were asked.

Students who are hoping to enter Bachelor’s programmes were curious about passing the entrance exams.

‘Is it possible to sit exams online?’

The answer is yes, definitely! You just have to register for the right combination of tests in accordance with the programme you are applying for, via your Applicant's Personal Account.

While preparing for exams don’t forget to look through exams samples.

‘What additional documents confirming personal merits should be submitted in order to apply for the Master’s programme?’

Unfortunately, your sports competition diploma won’t go towards your application, but if you have diplomas proving your participation in scientific international conferences, the HSE University – St. Petersburg Summer School certificate, other international certificates including GMAT/GRE or have academic publications, we strongly recommend that you submit them. Please check out the other criteria for assessment your portfolio.

‘Do you provide scholarships for international students?’

Yes, we provide merit-based scholarships, which can cover 25-70% of the tuition fee at Bachelor’s level and 25-50% at Master’s level.

‘Is there an option to transfer to HSE University – St. Petersburg from other Russian universities?’

Sure, nothing is impossible.

At the end of the event, first-year HSE University – St. Petersburg student ambassadors from China told participants about studies and campus life and answered several other questions.

We asked Chinese students what their expectations of the event were and whether they had been met.

They kindly agreed to share their opinions:
