Pietro Annanias Shakarian on Armenian Studies in St. Petersburg
On 20 July 2024, Pietro A. Shakarian, postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Historical Research at HSE in Petersburg, presented at the International Armenological Congress at the Matenadaran in Yerevan. Dr. Shakarian’s talk was entitled “From St. Petersburg to Syunik: Advancing Armenian Studies in Russia’s Northern Capital”. The presentation explored the current state of historical-scientific studies related to Armenia and the Caucasus in St. Petersburg.

On April 30, Dr. Arturo Zoffmann Rodriguez, a researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Contemporary History (IHC) at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities/ IN2PAST, in Lisbon, Portugal, presented his book "The Spanish Anarchists and the Russian Revolution, 1917–24: Anguish and Enthusiasm" in the framework of the regular research seminar of the Center for Historical Research and the Department of History.
Dr. Paula Montero on syncretism and pluralism in the configuration of religious diversity in Brazil
On February 16, Dr. Paula Montero, professor of anthropology at the State University of São Paulo and senior researcher at the Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning, gave the paper "Syncretism and pluralism in the configuration of religious diversity in Brazil" as part of the regular research seminar of the Center for Historical Research and the Department of History.
