Weekly TV-show Fantástico made a report about the centerary of October Revolution. The report was based on an interview with the director of the Center for Historial Research Alexander Semyonov.
On October 11, Professor Dominic Lieven delivered a public lecture at the HSE St Petersburg. Lecture was titled “Reflections on empire, Russia and historical comparison” and was organized by the Center for Historical Research.
On 5th of October in frames of the “Boundaries of history” research seminar Andrey Golovnev, ethnographer, documentary filmmaker and director of Kunstkamera delivered a lecture titled “Anthropology of motion and the phenomenon of colonization”.
On September 27, renowned human rights activist and South Africa Constitutional Court Justice (1994 – 2009) Albie Sachs delivered a public lecture titled “Forging a Constitution for the New South Africa: from Racism to Equal Rights for All” at the HSE St Petersburg. The lecture was organized by the Center for Historical Research and the School of Law, HSE St Petersburg, in collaboration with the Fund for Support of Liberal Education and the Center for Study of Civil Society and Human Rights.
On Thursday, September 21, the regular research seminar "Boundaries of History" was held. Alberto Masoero presented his paper titled "Which Orient? Potanin, Iuzhakov, Ukhtomskii and their (very) different political understanding of Eurasian hybridity."
On September, 20 the Higher School of Economics welcomed with open arms Masters and PhD students from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and University of Regensburg for a joint programme looking at Change in an Interdisciplinary Perspective.
On September, 1 Tatiana Borisova, Associate Professor at the Department of History and Senior Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Environmental and Technological History, presented her paper “The legalism of Russian revolutionaries: A continuity in the Russian legal tradition” at the Fifth European Congress on World and Global History in Budapest.
