On 20 July 2024, Pietro A. Shakarian, postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Historical Research at HSE in Petersburg, presented at the International Armenological Congress at the Matenadaran in Yerevan. Dr. Shakarian’s talk was entitled “From St. Petersburg to Syunik: Advancing Armenian Studies in Russia’s Northern Capital”. The presentation explored the current state of historical-scientific studies related to Armenia and the Caucasus in St. Petersburg.

The article "What Is Our People’s Guilt? Wanderers, Ritual Murder, and the Boundaries of Russianness in the Late Russian Empire" by Igor Kuziner, Junior Fellow Research at Centre for Historical Research, was published in May issue of "Ab Imperio".

On April 30, Dr. Arturo Zoffmann Rodriguez, a researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Contemporary History (IHC) at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities/ IN2PAST, in Lisbon, Portugal, presented his book "The Spanish Anarchists and the Russian Revolution, 1917–24: Anguish and Enthusiasm" in the framework of the regular research seminar of the Center for Historical Research and the Department of History.

On February 16, Dr. Paula Montero, professor of anthropology at the State University of São Paulo and senior researcher at the Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning, gave the paper "Syncretism and pluralism in the configuration of religious diversity in Brazil" as part of the regular research seminar of the Center for Historical Research and the Department of History.

On December 22, Dr. Alexander Titov, lecturer on the Queen's University Belfast, gave an open lecture about the processes of "nationalization" of imperial territories in Northeast Asia in the late 19th to early 20th century. The event was organized within the framework of the regular research seminar held by the Center for Historical Research and the Department of History.

On February 28, 2023, a lecture by Anastasiia Palamarchuk, Professor of the Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University, on the topic "From Orders of Precedence to Social Categories: Antiquarian Narratives of Early Modern Period" was held at the Department of History within the framework of the regular research seminar of the Centre for Historical Research and the Department of History.

The Center for Historical Research of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, Russia, invites applications for two postdoctoral research positions within the current projects of the Center: "Transformation of Regimes of Governing Diversity" and "Rethinking the history of modernization in imperial Russia and the USSR."

On December 9, the Centre for Historical Research organised a public lecture of Mikhail Agapov, a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Historical Geography and Regional Studies of Tyumen State University. The discussion was based on the report of the speaker on the topic "Admirals and Merchants: Socio-Political Contexts of Timber Export in the Pechora Territory in the 1840s-1860s."
