The VI International Summer school of the Department of History "The Topography of Imperial Power" held successfully in the offline format

On September 05-27, 16 students from German universities took part in the International Summer School of the Department of History ‘The Topography of Imperial Power: The Political and Cultural Space of St. Petersburg’ organized in cooperation with the Department of the History of Eastern Europe (Georg-August University of Göttingen) with generous support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This is one of few international summer schools in 2021 held at HSE offline.

Five years of the Summer School by History Department “Topography of imperial power: the political and cultural space of St. Petersburg”

The summer school of the HSE’s Department of History, St. Petersburg, with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, was held for the fifth time this year and attracted an international group of students from Germany and the USA to participate.

From May 27 - June 2, 2018, HSE in St. Petersburg hosted International Research Summer School "History of Empires in a Global Age, 1870 - 1920". The School was co-organized by the Free University of Berlin and Humboldt University, Berlin.

BA Students Join a Field Trip to Germany

Students of the BA programme in History at the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg together with the professors of the Department of History went on a field trip to Germany. Students together with Alexander Semyonov, Anton Kotenko and Dietmar Wulff visited Bonn University, Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, and University of Leipzig. The field trip was supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The theme of the trip was 'The Empire in a Global History'.
