I was born in Indonesia and lived there for a long time, but I grew up in the Netherlands. When I was at the age of three, I visited Russia for the first time. Having graduated from high school, I came back to St. Petersburg to study at the Theatre Arts Academy.

Before applying, I had been studying the Russian language for eight months to speak accurately and present a positive self-image to the admission committee: to declaim fables, poems, fairy tales. I entered the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in 2015. And thus began my life in Saint Petersburg.

Four years later, I graduated from the academy and got interested in digital marketing, user interface design, and web development in creative industries. I enjoy painting and creating. In some way, it inspired me to apply for the Master's programme in Arts and Culture Management at HSE University — Saint Petersburg. During my studying here, I joined a lot of projects for such organisations as the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Museum of Russian Icons, the Kadriorg Art Museum (Estonia), and many others.

In the frame of the various projects, we carry out research, develop solutions, manage resources, do event management, and work with professionals in this field. The main goal of the projects is to solve the problems of cultural institutions. We generate ideas on how to improve the activities of their institutions together with curators.

I have significantly grown professionally and gained a wealth of experience here over the past two years. I met wonderful people who have become very close to me and keep showing constant support and care. I would have achieved nothing without the friends I made at the university. So, I am grateful for the opportunity to meet students and lecturers, who have become a very important part of my life. I do always appreciate their efforts and support.

The Master's programme 'Arts and Culture Management' prepares professional experts in art management and creative industries. Visit the International Admissions page to learn how to become an HSE — St. Petersburg graduate student.
