Abstract

The course’s aim is to shape a comprehensive understanding of the logistics systems’ tasks and functions as well as to examine the methods of material and information flow and supply chain management. The first part of the course is dedicated to basic concepts and principles of supply chain management including logistics, procurement and shipment, warehousing and inventory, distribution and service, reverse logistics, product and information flows in the field of supply chain management. The second part will provide students with a set of analytical tools and decision supporting technologies to make them able to apply the most efficient approaches in the field of business analytics in logistics and supply chain management.

Learning Objectives

• to give students an overview of supply chain management and supply chain analytics essentials
• to teach students to apply this knowledge into practice through individual and group study and presentations

Expected Learning Outcomes

• to understand definitions and terms commonly used in supply chain management
• to apply a set of analytical tools to different decision cases in supply chain context
• to find weak points of a company’s supply chain and provide recommendations on its enhancement
• to navigate the structure and content of scientific articles on supply chain management and supply chain analytics research
