Guest lecture on “Synergy Valuation” (UPES)

As part of the new course on M&A, the second year MP Finance course had a guest lecture by a professor from a partner university from India (UPES) on “Synergy Valuation”.

On November 23, Dr. Kamal Ghosh Ray - an internationally recognised scientist and consultant in the field of mergers and acquisitions, senior researcher at the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances, Austria - gave a guest lecture for the students of the Finance programme. The professor told the students of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg about where synergies arise in M&A transactions and how to properly account for synergies in the transaction price. They also touched upon aspects of synergy valuation in cross-border transactions.
