Double Degree track with UCSC

About the programme

The Double Degree Programme is organized according to the agreement between HSE University St. Petersburg and UCSC (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore). It implies that Master in Finance students have the opportunity to spend one year in Milano at the programme «Banking and Finance» or «Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari» (EMIF), while students from Italy are able to study at HSE University St. Petersburg. The alumni of the Double Degree Programme will get two diplomas at the end of the study – one from HSE University and the other one from UCSC.

Final Examination

On successful completion of the programme students will be awarded two full Masters degrees: Laurea Magistrale in Banking and Finance (UCSC) and Master of Sciences in Finance (HSE). The successful completion of the programme include completion of all required courses and 120 credit units (ECTS) and an obtainment of a passing grade on the graduation dissertation. The final thesis must be presented at both institutions but be a single document.


How HSE St Petersburg Students can apply

To be eligible for the double-degree track students must apply during their 1st year of studies in the Finance Programme at HSE St. Petersburg. After the first year of study at HSE St. Petersburg, HSE students enroll to UCSC degree programme in Banking and Finance and EMIF. Maximum number of students per academic year to participate in the DDP is 2 students.


Application documents: 

1.  Application Form for the Double Degree Programme: Application Form DDP 


(The file name should include: the name of your Degree Programme, name and surname. Example: International Business and Managenemt _ Sokolova Svetlana).

2. Motivation letter (why it is important for you to take part in the programme, what goals you pursue and how studying at UCSC will help you achieve them)

3. Certificate of enrolment stating Cumulative ranking position, GPA (requested at Programme Office)

4. Language certificate (IELTS min 6.0 / TOEFL IBT min 80) or equivalent confirmation by the language teacher

5. CV in English (max 1-2 pages)

Scholarship opportunities

 HSE students have opportunity to gain a scholarship on a competitive basis. The scholarship limit depends on a country, the mid-level of the scholarship is 120 000 roubles per semester. The decision about the nomination for DDP and scholarships is made by the Programme Board of the HSE Degree Programme.

Costs of the programme

Students pay tuition at HSE St. Petersburg if applicable, but do not need to pay tuition at UCSC.

The other costs associated with the program should be covered by the students:

·                    international travel

·                    accommodation expenses

·                    mandatory health insurance for international students or equivalent private insurance

·                    textbooks and miscellaneous expenses.
