Representatives of the HSE School of Business Informatics took part in the annual International Symposium of the University of London (UoL), conducted for all partner educational organizations

Representatives of the HSE School of Business Informatics - S. Maltseva, M. Komarov, O. Tsukanova, S. Efremov, O. Mishina - took part in the annual International Symposium of the University of London (UoL), conducted for all partner educational organizations.

The University of London launched its first international programme in 1858, currently, about 50,000 students study at the University's programmes in more than 20 countries worldwide. Academic direction of educational programmes is carried out by UoL institutions. The HSE School of Business Informatics implements the Management and Digital Innovation programme jointly with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The programme gives students a unique opportunity to receive two full-fledged diplomas - the Russian BSc degree in Business Informatics, as well as the UK BSc degree in Management and Digital Innovation (MDI).

Sergey Efremov, Head of the MDI programme at HSE: “The events held at the Symposium by the University of London and the London School of Economics and Political Science were certainly very useful for us. Targeting them at partner institutions that implement parallel and double degree programmes, LSE provides first-hand information on the latest changes in the format and content of programmes and also opens up opportunities for best practice exchanges at the level of horizontal interaction. We have now started negotiations with the University of Singapore, which also runs the MDI programme, on the possibilities of short-term exchanges between our students. Soon we will also announce scholarships for the LSE Summer School for our current students”.

The head of the School of Business Informatics Svetlana Maltseva and the deputy head of the School for international cooperation, Mikhail Komarov, held talks with Antonio Cordella, one of the supervisors of the MDI programme on the part of LSE. An agreement was reached on the visit of Professor Cordella to Moscow on the Open Day of the programme on May 12, 2019. The parties agreed to expand cooperation not only within the framework of the parallel degree programme but also on research projects.

During the Symposium, representatives of the School took part in the business game (Business simulation exercise), their team finished 2nd in the end.
