St.Petersburg Campus of Higher School of Economics is happy to host International Students' Forum "Visions of a Wider Europe" organized in cooperation with the Yeltsin Foundation and NGO "Dialog Europe Russia". The forum is dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Russia - WTO negotiations about Russia's accession to the organization and upcoming accedence of our country to OECD. The Forum will take place on 14-16 October, 2013.
The coordinator of the event, Ms. Anna Dekaltchouk has stated that thanks to strong support from Higher School of Economics, Austrian NGO “Dialog Europe Russia” and the Yeltsin Foundation, the idea of bringing the forum to St.Petersburg has become the reality. The topic about Russia’s accession to WTO has become mutually interesting so the School of Applied Political Science has caught up the idea. We made up a wider topic which raises more complicated question about the integration of Russia into international community so the name “Visions of a Wider Europe” was born.
The Forum has attracted very high-profile speakers among them are Dr.Wolfgang Schuessel, former Federal Counselor of Austria (2000-2007), Dr.Martin Vokovich, former Austrian diplomat who used to serve in the USSR, Mr.Robert Ley, Director for Finance and Entrepreneurship of OECD and Mr. Maxim Medvedkov, Head of the Department for Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation who was the main negotiator during the process of Russia’s accession to WTO.
The Program of the Forum is very dynamic and has profound multidisciplinary approach where the participants from Germany, Poland, Italy, Austria, Finland and Russia will share their views and ideas on the issue.
