Workshops, Dances and Quests: HSE SPb Day at 'Sevkabel Port'
HSE University-St Petersburg invites its students and other guests to HSE SPb Day—the brightest holiday of this autumn. Participants will have a chance to meet student organisations of HSE University-St Petersburg, attend a theatre workshop, play a live chess game, listen to the lectures about the youth and enjoy the tracks by DJ Feel, which put everyone in a good mood.
This year, HSE SPb Day will take place at 'Sevkabel Port', which is one of the largest creative spaces in the city. Entry to the event is free. It means that the campus students and staff, as well as all the guests of 'Sevkabel Port', can attend the holiday of first-year students. Even random passers-by will be able to learn about the versatility of HSE University-St Petersburg.
HSE SPb Day combined all the imaginable sorts of entertainment into one event: drawing, games, quests, sports, lectures, and wonderful music. This is the life which awaits everyone who joined the campus on September 1.
The event starts at 4 pm with attending pavilions of HSE student organisations. For each completed activity, the participants will receive stickers—they will be able to exchange all the collected stickers for pleasant gifts from HSE University-St Petersburg: a notebook, a shopper bag, a sweatshirt or something else.
Another surprise will be waiting for the first-year students of Bachelor's and Master's programmes at the information desk. So we advise you to start your walk through the HSE world there.
This year, the event gathered 21 student organisations, including the drama club 'Your Own Version', the sailing club 'Hermes' and the film discussion club '35 mm'. All the guests will be able to colour the postcards with the representatives of the creative studio 'Hudozhka HSE', play basketball and live chess, make a bright face-painting and get to know each other during team games. The students of the programme 'Design' will run a creative workshop where the guests will decorate T-shirts—this is a great way to keep lovely memories of the holiday.
The units of HSE University-St Petersburg prepared some surprises for the participants: Career Centre will try to predict the career path of every guest and give good wishes. The International Office will tell about the academic mobility and its peculiarities.
Besides, at 4:30 pm, the Public Talk will open for the guests. There, they will be able to attend lectures on the modern youth delivered by researchers, research centres and the graduates. Elena Omelchenko, the Director of the Centre for Youth Studies, will give a lecture on the generation relay. She will tell which experience the millennials will pass on to zoomers and which one they will keep to themselves. Moreover, another lecture will be delivered by Alena Suvorova, the Academic Supervisor of the Master's programme 'UX Analytics and Information System Design'.
At 6 pm, the official part of the event will start. The heads and partners of HSE University-St Petersburg as well as the faculty deans will congratulate all the HSE students on the beginning of the academic year and wish them success in all kinds of undertakings.
The holiday will end with the performance of DJ Feel who specialises in electronic music. At 7 pm, the guests will have a chance to dance to relaxing techno tracks and admire the sunset from the embankment of 'Sevkabel Port'.
