HSE - Saint Petersburg Culture in the Spotlight International Photo Contest
HSE - Saint Petersburg International Office invites you to participate in the Culture in the Spotlight photo contest, which highlights the symbiosis of multiple cultures on the streets of Saint Petersburg. Winners will receive HSE souvenirs. The HSE website and associated social media pages will publish the winning photos, as well as the interviews with the winners.
Who is eligible?
You must be an HSE - St. Petersburg student (this includes exchange programme students). Both international and Russian students are welcome to participate.
What and how to submit?
- Submit a photo that illustrates the peaceful coexistence of different cultures on the streets of St. Petersburg – use your creativity and imagination! Featuring yourself in the photo is not obligatory, but highly recommended. Make sure you have permission to submit the photo from persons depicted in the picture.
- Photo content must be appropriate – do not submit photos that feature excessive alcohol, drugs or related paraphernalia, or sexual content.
- Photos must be of your authorship. Do not use other people’s pictures.
- Submission (multiple submissions are permitted):
Step 1: Send a high-resolution photo (at least 1200 x 1600 pixels) to the following email: lkoshkina@hse.ru
Step 2: Upload a photo on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter (make sure that your profile is open to public access) and use the following hashtag: #hsespbphoto
When?
Submission is open from 15th to 30th of October.
Who decides the winner and when?
The International Office team will announce the winner on November 1st on social media (please follow us on Facebook and Instagram @hsestpetersburg). Photos will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria: artistic expression, creativity and originality, quality of image, and international content.
NOTE: By submitting your pictures to the contest, you grant HSE a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly, and all other standard purposes. HSE will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
