Winter School, February 4-5
On February 4-5, the National Research University Higher School of Economics held the Winter School of Master’s programmes.
The Open Day of Master’s programme "Finance" was full of both events and emotions.
The first part of the meeting included a presentation of the programme, answers to questions from future applicants and brainstorming on the topic "Current trends in finance".
The speech of Veronika Buran, a graduate of Finance master’s programme in 2019 (Project Manager of PJSC Severstal; Leading Manager for Controlling and Operational Efficiency, Samolet Plus) emphasised the relevance and prospect of financial knowledge. Veronica spoke about her career path, key trends in corporate finance and proved that the MSc in Finance is an important starting point for a successful career in management and strategic planning.
Anna Diveeva, PhD in Economics, an analyst at SoftBalance, conducted a detailed and clear review of the professional direction "Business Analytics", showing the demand for financial analysis models and the possibility of their digitalisation.
Evgenia V. Korekhova, MBA, head of the consulting group K3 and Center of testing and development “Humanitarian Technologies” (St. Petersburg), held a workshop "Professional career in finance, features of its development and channels of job search”. As part of the seminar, applicants were acquainted with the current requirements for financiers and future financial directors, learned the secrets of finding the best vacancies in the labor market. Much attention was paid to the issues of "Hiring or owning a business", "Variety of opportunities in the field of finance", "Criteria for selection and uniqueness of an expert", "Strategy for finding internships and work".
The initiative of holding Summer and Winter Schools is valuable in that it provides an opportunity for participants to get acquainted with the programmes in advance, communicate with teachers, expert practitioners, get answers to individual questions of education and career.
